Respected local property identity, Dean’s father Malcolm Norburn, is also an integral member of the Norburn Real Estate team. A well-known face in Eastern Suburbs real estate for decades, he commenced his career back in 1956 as an office boy and rent collector at Shenstone & Charles, learning the ropes from the ground up. By 1967 he was a partner in the firm, buying out one of the existing principals. Malcolm and the remaining partner transformed the company into a Pty Ltd, buying up several agencies and rent rolls over the years in order to grow the business. In 1982 they purchased the franchise and rent roll of Richardson & Wrench Bondi Junction and traded under this name. With the addition of some new partners along the way, they ran an extremely successful business until Malcolm retired in 2000. However his passion for property proved way too strong and he was quickly lured out of retirement to join the team when Dean established Norburn Real Estate, with his experience and heritage proving a valuable advantage for clients.
